These are the rules I would enact to make this world a much better place. Will add more as I think of them.

  • All devices must be running a Free and open-source version of Linux or *BSD in the next five years. Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android (Android using the Linux kernel does not count, it must be using a full GNU/Linux operating system) must be phased out.
  • Generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) is now illegal to use for any purpose, world-wide.
  • Weapons more powerful than low-powered pellet guns are completely illegal.
  • No company may spy on citizens without a specific reason and a warrant from a judge in any way. This includes digital surveillance of all kinds as well as spycams such as Flock.
  • All digital media must be completely DRM-free and freely downloadable to use on any device in any way the user wants.
  • Copyright may last 17 years before the work becomes public domain. No exceptions or extensions.
  • No wars of any kind. All global conflicts must be resolved with negotiations mediated by a worldwide entity.
  • The draft is completely abolished.
  • Religion is completely abolished.
  • Every world leader/representative/etc must be carefully vetted and investigated before allowing them to be eligible for office. Also, this review may be done during their tenure in office, and if they are found to be ineligible for office, they will be immediately removed and possibly be prosecuted for their crimes.
  • Freedom of speech does not include the ability to knowingly lie.
  • Law enforcement's authority is in no way absolute and any arrest may be immediately legally challenged, with no negative mark until the person in question is found guilty without any doubt by an impartial court of law.
  • A jury must be populated by willing, impartial people who are experts in the law, not random people who know nothing about the law forced to serve against their will.
  • All American Football must convert to flag football to decrease injuries and concussions.

More to come...
